Cheese For a Jedi

George Lucas eat your heart out. Wookey Hole cheese. Cave aged in England (by Jedi).

This cheder cheese has a strong unrefined sharp flavor. While eating one can almost imagin a mild hairy wookey undertone.

The Classic Jonathan has a New (iPhone) Toy Post

Filed under: Hardware, Life Upgrades, Work Related — Mr Windle @ 02:03

As the title describes I have an iPhone 3G now and in the tradition of getting a new device that can update wordpress, this post is being written on that device.

Many of you may be thinking “Jonathan + iPhone = WTF?” and trust me I’m with you here but let me start from the beginning.

On 2008-04-04 I left Photo & Sound Saving and began a search for a new job. At the time I thought I would be starting a new career at The City Of Bothell but it was not to be. Instead I was beat out by yet another idiot with a degree which is funny considering where I ended up. 2008-06-30 I was hired on at Bellevue Community College as a Network Admin.

So back to the iPhone. AT&T offers state employees a 15% discount on their monthly bills. It’s like w00t where do I sign up. The catch being a have to sign a new two year contract. Thus in renewing my contract I got an iPhone.

Here are the likes and dislikes so far.

Likes:
Capacitive Touchscreen
Makes E-Mail useful and fun again
No more worrying about finding open WiFi for Internet
Interface very fast to navigate

Dislikes:
NO T9 Input Interface!
Lack to copy and paste
Not enough key applications for free in App Store. SSH Client just to name one
Not a true multi-tasking OS.

Jonathan + Wii = <3

Jonathan and his Wiimote
As the Christmas dust settles I find myself staring at a wonderful white box. In my hand a controller blinks with four flashing blue LEDs. As I turn on the system the TV might as well be a black-hole sucking my free waking hours into the space time continuum. This new little Nintendo system is just awesome.

My First Newton Post

Filed under: Hardware — Mr Windle @ 05:34

This is my first post using my Newton Messagepad 2100. It’s a little strange to be using an Internet device that was made before Internet devices were even thought of. I guess that’s what you get when you put standard technology like pcmcia in a device made by Apple with enough crazy cult followers and developers to keep the platform alive for 9 years after the product has been abandoned by it’s creator.

For $100 I think I will get my money’s worth out of it. The best 802.11b purchase I ever made has to be my Orinoco Gold card. I don’t think I have found a device yet that it doesn’t work in.

Well that’s enough text to make a post. We will see if nBlog work’s correctly or not.

Nintendo Mania

Filed under: Hardware — Mr Windle @ 04:39

Last Monday I went back again to the Nintendo employee store. I have spent far to much money on Nintendo stuff in the last two weeks but I am now caught up on Nintendo game system releases for the US. This does mean I finally own a gamecube. It’s probably a good thing that Jeff (Nintendo Guy) is leaving Nintendo because having regular access to the employee store there would be very dangerous to my bank account. Needless to say I’m a sucker for really good prices on electronic devices.
